Technical Manager

Job Information

Due to retirement we have an opportunity for an experienced Technical Manager to join the team here in Bourne.  Reporting to the Managing Director you will take responsibility for all technical and quality areas to ensure the site operates to high technical and compliance standards, ensuring food safety, due diligence, specification compliance, and legality at all times.  Whilst ensuring excellent communication with suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and develop all technical and quality aspects relating to approved UK and overseas cut herb suppliers
  • Provide technical expertise to the business and technical input to the formulation of Business strategy, budget and performance improvement plans
  • Ensure technical compliance is effectively measured across the business and where necessary corrective and preventative action plans are put into place
  • Oversee customer/supplier communication on technical matters.
  • Manage due diligence, compliance, and SEDEX processes. 
  • Ensure full traceability according to customer and certification schemes is fully achieved.
  • Provide an effective Risk Management process and ensure there is a robust Incident Management System in the business. To personally co-ordinate any incidents of a technical nature
  • Continually assess and update quality systems, procedures, methods and processes to assure all comply with established quality specifications and customer requirements.
  • Establish and maintain the HACCP food safety system for all products with interactive involvement by Quality Staff.
  • Monitor and maintain the corrective and preventive action program for troubleshooting production concerns and customer product issues.
  • Implement and maintain a statistical analysis and process control program to continually manage and improve the quality of products.
  • To provide relevant technical reports into various aspects of the business and ensure these are used a management tool for continuous improvement.
  • Manages customer, Quality, and Regulatory facility and Quality systems audits.
  • Ensure that all products comply with Customer Specifications.
  • People management of Technical and Quality teams.

 

Salary £DOE plus pension and 33 days holiday
